The Dawgs 16U team had a phenomenal weekend down in Lethbridge this past weekend as they took home the Championship in the 1st Annual Lethbridge Icebreaker Tournament for the 16U Division.
The Dawgs played great all weekend, finishing round robin play with a perfect 3-0 record. The perfect record guaranteed them a spot in the tournament championship.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME vs Edmonton Prospects
The Dawgs would score runs in each of the first five innings to defeat the Edmonton Prospects by a score of 8-6, capturing the tournament championship!
Offensively, the Dawgs were led by Andrew Franson, Derek Palmiere, Ryan Dousett and Ben Gagnon. Franson went a perfect 3 for 3 on the day while Gagnon collected 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Derek Palmiere collected 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Dousett managed one hit on the day.
Josh Bertrand got the start, pitching two innings while allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out five while walking four.
Matt Neufeld would pitch 3 scoreless innings in relief allowing zero runs on four hits while striking out five.
Brandon Green and Tyrelle Chadwick also contributed out of the bullpen.
