Dawgs 18U Black cruised to an easy victory over Vauxhall 14-2 on Sunday
It didn’t take long for the Dawgs to fire up the offense in the first inning. Cesar Valero doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. When the dust settled, the Dawgs put 3 runs on the board in the first inning and did not look back. The big bats were led by LaRon Smith, Ricardo Sanchez, Jack Marlin, Tristan Peters and Tucker Zdunich. Each recorded an extra base hit while Zdunich hit a 2 run home run.
Graham Brunner earned the win for the Dawgs. He surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Matt Wilkinson threw the final two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The boys really came together as a group over the course of the weekend, and they were playing their best baseball heading into the championship game. The Coaching Staff is incredibly proud of each and every one of the boys. Hopefully, this is just the start of things to come for the 2018 season.
Go Dawgs!
