Dawgs Set Sights on Best of the West

This weekend marks one of the biggest tournaments of the year for the Dawgs 18U Black where they will try to recapture the title at the prestigious “Best of the West” in Kamloops, BC. Each year, some of the most elite programs in Western Canada battle it out in hopes of being crowned  Best of the West.

Coach Helldobler had this to say about the weekend ahead.

“This is one of the more difficult tests for our guys this season. Each program in the tournament has the ability to win it, and it really comes down to who can be the most consistent and compete the hardest. Our group of athletes this year have a lot of talent with some good character, and we fully expect to make another run for the title.”

The Dawgs definitely have their work cut out for them and will be tested early on when they open up on Thursday against the Victoria Mariners and Abbotsford Cardinals in back-to-back games. The last game of pool play will be on Friday against the BLE Selects.
