The Canadian Junior National Team is about half-way through their extended spring training trip in Dunedin, Florida and Dawgs players have been making an impression on both sides of the ball.
Michael Yusypchuk (2024 RHP, Missouri State commit) has been lights out on the mound. In his two starts against the Pittsburgh Pirates EXT and New York Yankees EXT spring training teams, Yusypchuk has pitched 6 innings allowing only 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 6 and walking only 1. Yusypchuk is quickly establishing himself as the best amateur arm in the country! Eric Hartman (2025 OF, Michigan commit) has been swinging the bat well all week. In 6 games played with 15 ABs, Hartman is batting .400 with 6 singles, 5 runs scored, 3 RBI and 6 stolen bases. Tim Piasentin (2025 INF, Miami commit) has played in 4 games now, collecting 2 singles and 1 RBI. Will Labonte (2025 RHP, Arizona State commit) pitched 2 innings in an intersquad game on Saturday, April 20th where he allowed 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 1 and walking 1. His next appearance is set for Wednesday, April 24 against the Tampa Bay Rays EXT spring training team. Leo Cote (2024 INF, Oregon State commit) has played in 4 games, collecting 1 hit.
