The Dawgs visited Joe Etzel field to take on the University of Portland Pilots in their 11th game of the college tour on Saturday, however, the Dawgs were no match for the Pilots.
Portland jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, winning by a final score of 16-0. The Pilots pitching staff was dominant as 7 different pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter.
On the mound, there were a couple of bright spots for the Dawgs. Trey Nott threw 3 innings in relief striking out 5 while allowing 2 earned runs. Mitchell Heinrich pitched 1 inning giving up a solo shot with 1 strikeout and Landon Kauffman pitched a clean 9th inning.
The Dawgs will take on Southwest Oregon Community College on Sunday, October 9th at Joe Etzel Field. First pitch is at 3:00 pm.
