Game 1
Jack Howard was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Wednesday, driving in five on three hits to lead Dawgs 18U Red past PBA JV 17-13 on Wednesday. Howard drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the sixth.
An early lead helped lead the Dawgs to victory, scoring on a single by Noah Penney in the first inning.
The Dawgs pulled away for good after tallying five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Dryden Howse, Kale Seitz, Cody Kemp, and Jack Howard, all driving in runs in the inning.
Quinn Tocheniuk led the Dawgs to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out one. Aiden Orsted and Nick Levinski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
It was a big offensive day for the Dawgs, totalling 15 hits in the game. Dryden Howse, Jack Howard, Kale Seitz, Ty Johnson, and Noah Penney each had multiple hits in the victory.
Game 2
Dawgs 18U Red fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to PBA JV on Wednesday.
Mitch Dennis started the game and got the loss. He surrendered three runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three.
Fernando Fuentes came into the game out of the bullpen. He went three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two.
Offensively, it was a struggle against some strong pitching from PBA. Blake Davidson, Chris Thomson, and Kirklon White each collected one hit to lead the Dawgs offence.
Game 3
Dawgs 18U Red watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-0 loss to PBA JV on Thursday.
One of the bright spots of the game for the Dawgs was they took care of the baseball exceptionally well, committing zero errors.
Blake Davidson took the loss for Dawgs 18U Red. He allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four.
The offence was led by Melvin Lorenzo, Howse, Cody Kemp, and Kirklon White who all managed one hit each.
Game 4
An early lead helped Dawgs 18U Red defeat PBA JV 5-1 on Thursday. The Dawgs pulled away for good in the second inning when they scored on a walk by Kaden Zarowny and an error that scored another run. The Dawgs would add two more runs in the third inning and one more run in the fourth inning.
Juan Morales was on the mound for Dawgs 18U Red. He surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
Ty Johnson led the team offensively with two hits in three at bats.
