The Dawgs Academy was heavily represented at this year’s prestigious T12 event held at the Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Dawgs had a total 15 players selected to participate, and all of them represented themselves and the program tremendously well! Congratulations to all the Dawgs athletes on a great week of baseball!
Dawgs player highlights for the week:
Alejandro Cazorla was hot all week, going 5 for 13 including a double and a triple with 3 runs scored, 2RBI and 3 stolen bases.
Dryden Howse collected a double and a triple during the week and also made an appearance on the mound. Howse pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 3 batters.
Ty Johnson was on-base all week and scored 6 runs over the course of the tournament while collecting 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.
Jean-Luc Bussieres caught in two games during the tournament and ended up with a .333 batting average while collecting 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and scored 2 runs.
Matt Wilkinson pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 2 batters.
Simon Lusignan made two appearances for a combined total of 4 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while collecting 4 strikeouts.
Conor Pote made two appearances for a combined total of 4 innings pitched. Pote managed to collect 6 strikeouts during the tournament.
Jackson Fraser earned the win in his one appearance for the tournament. Fraser lasted 3 innings while allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with one strikeout.
