The Dawgs travelled to Albany, OR on Friday to take on Coach Andy Peterson’s (Dawgs WCBL Coach) Linn-Benton Community College Roadrunners in a double header. The Roadrunners would win both games by a score of 15-6 in 8 innings in game one and 2-0 in a shortened 4.5 innings in game two due to visibility issues caused by the setting sun.
The Dawgs did have several solid performances on the day including Lucas Mahoney (’25 uncommitted), Patriks Ludviks (’25 uncommitted), Caden Fischer (’26 uncommitted), Tye Carrier (’25 uncommitted), Tyler Hummel (’24 LSU-Eunice commit) and Avery Deisroth (’25 uncommitted).
Mahoney pitched a combined total of 3.2 innings between closing out game one and starting game two, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 1 with 1 walk. Patriks Ludviks pitched 1 inning in relief allowing 0 runs, 0 hits and 2 strikeouts. Caden Fischer pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 1 strikeout.
Offensively, Tye Carrier went 1 for 2 with a single and 2 runs scored. Tyler Hummel 2 for 4 with a single and a triple while scoring one run. Avery Deisroth was 1 for 1 with a walk and 1 RBI. Eric Machej (’24 Illinois State commit) went 1 for 4 with an RBI single. Quincy Jenkins (’26 uncommitted) was 0 for 2 with 2 RBI and played solid at shortstop. Turner Zdunich (’24 uncommitted) was 0 for 1 with a 3U FC RBI. Tim Piasentin (’25 University of Miami commit) was unlucky with 3 barrels but collected a sac fly RBI to deep right centre field.
The Dawgs continue their tour today as they take on the University of Portland Pilots at Joe Etzel Field. First pitch is at 4pm.
