The Academy Dawgs 18U Black just completed a dominant season where the club posted a staggering 60-5-1 record against elite high school aged academies and travel teams. The Dawgs captured 6 of the 7 elite tournament championships on their schedule, including championship wins at the Best of the West (Canada’s premier 18U tournament), the Perfect Game 18U World Series in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Curt Daniels Tournament, widely regarded as the top youth baseball showcase in the Pacific Northwest. Notably, the Dawgs 18U Black knocked of the #1 ranked, USA Prime Scout Team out of Texas in the championship game of the Perfect Game World Series.
This elite Dawgs squad coached by former college and professional pitcher, Jeff Duda, college standout, Bretton Gouthro, assisted by former San Francisco Giant minor leaguer, Tyler Hollick, featured 17 college commits, including 10 NCAA Division I scholarship signees, a testament to the exceptional talent developed through the Dawgs Academy. 2025 saw the continuation of the extraordinary 100% graduation rate in college placements across the Dawgs Academy with over $3M in scholarships awarded to Dawgs players. The Dawgs program also celebrated four MLB Draft selections in 2025, including Dawgs alumni Tim Piasentin (5th round, Toronto Blue Jays), Canon Reeder (18th round, Pittsburgh Pirates), Tyrelle Chadwick (18th round, Colorado Rockies) and Max Poirier (NDFA, Kansas City Royals).
The Dawgs 18U Red team coached by former college head coach Bryan Donohue (Mt. Hood CC, OR) and Quinn Tocheniuk (Dawgs alum, Rogers State, OK) also earned national recognition, ranking 40TH among top travel teams across North America.
Not resting on their laurels of the past season, the Dawgs continue to add to their extraordinary facility, the Seaman Stadium Complex. New in 2025 are an expanded Weight & Training Room offering state-of-the-art equipment, a 6500 sq. ft Hitting and Pitching Lab featuring multiple pitching and hitting lanes with the latest analytical technology, and a cutting-edge “Mind Gym” to enhance mental performance training.
These enhancements ensure the Dawgs remain Canada’s premier youth academy, and development program offering student-athletes’ world-class opportunities to grow on and off the field.
