This week's Dawgs Academy Alumni Spotlight features Andrew Yusypchuk (RHP, Chandler-Gilbert CC; Southern Illinois University commit) and Ricardo Sanchez (INF, Barton CC; Lamar University commit).

Andrew Yusypchuk – RHP, Chandler-Gilbert CC (Southern Illinois University commit)

Yusypchuk has gotten off to a solid start for the ‘Yotes. In 4 starts, Yusypchuk is 2-0 (W-L), and has logged 22.1 innings pitched while striking out 22 batters and only walking 4. Look for Yusypchuk to continue spearheading the rotation for the ‘Yotes as they hope to make a run deep into the playoffs this season.

Ricardo Sanchez, INF Barton CC (Lamar University commit)

Sanchez had an incredible freshman season with the Barton Cougars in 2022 where he hit .442 with 35 doubles, 5 triples, 9 home runs, and 90 runs batted in in 59 games. So far in 2023, Sanchez has picked up right where he left off – in 7 games played, Sanchez is hitting .458 with 11 hits, including 3 doubles, 1 home run and 16 RBI already. Look for Sanchez to continue to lead the Cougars as they look to make a run in 2023.
