The Okotoks Dawgs played host to the Baseball Alberta 15U AAA Provincials this last weekend, where all three Dawgs 15U teams earned the opportunity to play for the Provincial Championship.

The Dawgs 15U Black came out on top and were crowned Provincial champions after going 29-0 in the regular season, and 5-0 in the Provincials after defeating the Red Deer Braves in the Championship  by a score of 12-3.

The Dawgs 15U Black now prepare for the Ray Carter 15U National Championship in Oshawa, Ontario from August 22-26.

In other news, there are a total of 10 Dawgs players (half the roster), 9 current and 1 future Dawg, that will be competing at the Canada Cup with Team Alberta in Regina, Saskatchewan from August 7-11.

Lastly, the Toronto Blue Jays T12 Tournament has recently announced the first 50 players selected to the prestigious showcase. The T12 Tournament is held annually each fall at the Rogers Centre, home of the MLB Toronto Blue Jays. This will be the 5th year of the showcase, and there is a new format for player selections. Instead of players selected to represent regions of Canada, it will now be the top 150 players across the country deemed fit by Toronto Blue Jays Scouts.
