Dawgs 18U Red defeated Edmonton Prospects 1-0 on Friday as Quinn Tocheniuk and Melvin Lorenzo combined to throw a shutout.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Dawgs pitchers struck out seven, while Edmonton Prospects pitchers sat down seven.

The Dawgs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Ricardo Sanchez doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring Kirklon White for the only run of the game.

Quinn Tocheniuk led the Dawgs to victory on the mound. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.  Lorenzo threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Lorenzo recorded the last nine outs to earn the save.

Sanchez, Noah Matsubara, Dryden Howse, and Kirklon White each collected one hit to lead the Dawgs offense.
